Towards a Conceptual Framework for Supporting Professional Development in Local Radio Newsrooms in the Era of Generative Artificial Intelligence: An Integrative Theoretical Study within the Yemeni Media Context. The rapid advancement of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) has fundamentally transformed contemporary media organizations, extending its influence beyond content automation to newsroom management, editorial decision-making, organizational learning, and professional capacity development. These transformations have redefined professional competencies required in modern newsrooms and created an urgent need for media organizations to redesign their development strategies in line with digital transformation. Although recent scholarship has increasingly examined AI applications in journalism, most existing studies have concentrated on technological adoption, automated content production, or ethical implications. Limited attention has been given to developing an integrated conceptual framework explaining how Generative AI can support sustainable professional development in local radio newsrooms, particularly within Arab media environments characterized by limited resources and varying levels of digital readiness. This study seeks to bridge this gap by proposing a comprehensive conceptual model linking organizational digital readiness with the adoption of Generative AI applications and examining their indirect influence through organizational learning, human capital, and knowledge management on professional development in local radio newsrooms. Using an integrative literature review and descriptive analytical approach, the study synthesizes contemporary international and Arab scholarship to construct a theoretically grounded framework that integrates technological, organizational, and human dimensions. The proposed framework contributes to extending current knowledge on AI-enabled newsroom transformation and provides practical guidance for Arab media institutions seeking to enhance workforce capabilities and accelerate sustainable digital transformation.
